Northside Oral History

Long-time residents in the Penn and Plymouth area told their stories.

Northside stories

In phase one, we asked longtime residents to share memories of Penn and Plymouth.

Community elder interviews

In Phase one of this project, we worked with 4000 More Creative. They interviewed over 90 residents to document stories of resistance and resilience.

To make this phase successful, we also worked with:

  • Oak Park–Pillsbury United Communities
  • Masjid An Nur
  • Liberty Community Church
  • Northside Residents Redevelopment Council.
