Deputy Director of Racial Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

Position highlights

Racial Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (REIB) drives culture change throughout the City of Minneapolis, integrating racial equity concerns into policies and practices to improve the lives of residents by dismantling systemic disparities and institutionalized racism. This Chief Operations Officer role provides leadership and day-to-day operational direction of the department, providing oversight of projects, programs, and initiatives. Develop and maintain strategic and key enterprise and external partnerships and relationships. Assist in setting racial equity framework and guide City departments in the incorporation and evaluation of racial equity principles.

Candidates must

  • Have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant work experience with anti-racist strategies, tools, and principles. Must have senior-level supervisory experience.
  • Have demonstrated organizational and personnel management experience.
  • Have strong project management and policy development experience.
  • Have knowledge of executive Mayor government structures.
  • Have demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders.
