Boards and commissions

Many boards, commissions and advisory committees take part in the City's decision-making process.

I want to

“I wanted to be part of the solution." – Akisha Everett, Public Health Advisory Committee

Serving on a board or commission can be a rewarding experience for residents interested in improving their community. They help shape public policy which impacts City services and programs.

How the appointment process works

Recruitment cycles happen twice each year (spring and fall) and whenever vacancies occur. The City Council and Mayor approve all appointees.

The City seeks people who will enrich the work of appointed boards and commissions. This includes those from diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and perspectives.
