Animal Care and Control Advisory Board
Advises on the development of animal-related policies and decision-making processes, burgeoning community issues related to animals, and public education and outreach efforts.

Requirement: Members will be selected to represent the following categories: local animal-related business owners, rescue organizations, non-profit organizations, veterinarians, urban farmers, animal-related media, and residents.

Advises the City Council and Mayor on arts-related issues.

Redistricting Advisory Group
Advises the Charter Commission about Redistricting

Vacancies: 9


Members of the Redistricting Advisory Group must be eligible voters in the City. Within the two years of being appointed, members must not have:

  • Held any elected public office
  • Appeared on a ballot listing their partisan affiliation in any election
  • Worked as an employee of any political party (as defined by the Minnesota election law)
  • Worked as an employee for the City in any capacity other than as an election judge

Workforce Development
Advises Council on directions and policies for job training and placement activities aimed at reducing the unemployment of Minneapolis residents and promoting School-To-Work Transition Programs.

Vacancies: 9

Requirement: The MWDB is comprised of 21 members who are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council to three-year terms. Members represent various sectors of the workforce system, including business, workforce, education and training, government, and economic development. Per the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, members must have decision-making authority within the organizations they represent.

Term: 3 years
