Custom art project application requirements
Plan to do your art installation after April street sweeping is done.
These are the items you need to include in your application:
- Eligible location
- Name of artist you plan to hire for their work
- Eligible permit holder
- Community support
- Maintenance plan and budget
- Removal plan and budget
- General liability insurance
- Traffic management plan depending on your project
- Engineer's drawings or letter depending on your project
Steps to apply for a custom art project
Public art application approvals
- Community-led public art project have three approvals.
- The second application is Arts Commission application.

| 1 | Eligibility Request | This approval determines if your proposed site or utility box is eligible for public art. |
| 2 | Arts Commission Application |
This approval goes before the Arts Commission to determine if your project meets public art goals and city rules. |
| 3 | Final permits and paperwork | This is the final approval. Once the documents in this application are approved you can start your art installation. |
