Public Art eligibility request

We explain the project and location details you'll need to submit for location approval.

What to know

  • This first step will determine if your proposed site or utility box is eligible for public art.
  • You will provide information about your proposed art project and your desired location.
  • By getting this approval early on, you can get started before you prepare a full application.

During this step:

  • The ownership of the property or object location:
    • If it not City owned, you will work with the owner
    • If it is City owned, the City will check the eligibility
  • The City staff will determine if:
    • Art is possible on this location
    • There is no upcoming construction in the area

Every project must secure this approval before it can move forward.
