City Council media contacts
Media interviews
The City Council news team represents the City Council as a body, not any single Council Member. Interview requests should be made directly to the members' offices.
If you have procedural or legislative questions, contact us.
Covering a Council meeting
Members of the media are welcome to set up cameras and plug-in for audio in Chambers. There are audio connections in Chambers near where the Clerk sits.
We do not provide any equipment so bring what you need. We do not have staff to troubleshoot issues during a meeting so arrive early to set up.
When in Chambers:
- Silence all devices
- Do not talk during meetings
- If you arrive late, wait until no one is speaking to set up
Press Workroom
The Legislative Department has a Press Workroom for media covering City Council. It is located next to Council Chambers in Room 382.
This room serves as a workspace for journalists to use before, during, and after City Council meetings. Journalists from newspapers, TV, radio, or other news organizations can apply to use it.
Data requests
The City has a team dedicated to responding to requests for data. Requesting data through their system can get you the information you need faster.
