Definition

A plumber is a contractor who works on connections with:

  • Branch sewers
  • Drains
  • Main sewers
  • Water mains
  • Water pipes

They install or fix:

  • Atmospheric burners
  • Combustion air piping
  • Fuel gas piping and venting
  • Gas burner equipment
  • Pipes
  • Power burners that do not exceed one hundred thousand (100,000) BTUs
  • Stopcocks, taps and water closets

Plumber and gas fitter contractors may also install or fix power burner equipment.
