Fee-free events

This year, we are making it easier to host events by waiving permit fees.

Help bring people together

Many public events need City permits. This year, to encourage activation across the city, we are covering the cost of many common event permit fees through the Small Business Resiliency Fund.

More about Small Business Resiliency Fund

This support is intended to make it easier to host events, activate business districts and bring back connection and energy after a challenging winter.

Eligible events must take place between April 1 and Dec. 31, 2026. Funding is available while funds last.

What event organizers need to know

Event organizers still need to submit permit applications. Standard application timelines still apply. This program does not cover late fees.

Some events may need permits that are not listed here, and fees for those permits may still apply.

Costs not covered

Some event costs are not covered by this funding.

These may include:

  • Security
  • Portable restroom rental
  • Barricade rental
  • Waste management costs

Host an event

Join in on the excitement. We can help answer questions about eligible permits, event requirements and available support.
