What it means

A property or area with local designation:

• Is an established landmark or historic district
• Was approved by City Council through the local designation process
• Must have any plans for alteration reviewed and approved by the City

How to get local designation

You submit an application.

We review a property or area by: 

• Making sure it meets at least one of seven criteria outlined in City ordinance
• Following a rigorous nomination review process
