Before you begin
Many services at Minneapolis Animal Care and Control (MACC) are by appointment only. Use the online form to book your appointment.
Appointment scheduler
There are four parts to appointment scheduler. You'll need to:
- Select your appointment type
- Select the date and time
- Add your personal details
- Provide additional information
Appointment types
Appointments are available to the public, unless otherwise noted.

Vaccine | 15 minutes per animal |
We offer low-cost vaccines and microchips for pets to Minneapolis residents. If you have more than one animal, please book one appointment per animal. Pay at the time of your appointment. We prefer you use a credit or debit card, but we accept cash and checks. |

Foster | 30 minutes | If you are picking up a foster animal or bringing it back to MACC for any reason, use this appointment type. | See details about pet fostering |

Shelter hours
Call to make an appointment for vaccines, foster pick-up/drop off, or another reason not listed here. Note that starting March 13, vaccine and microchip appointments will be temporarily suspended.
Walk-in visits for adoption
Monday through Friday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. and second Saturday of each month 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Closed on the following Mondays: March 6, April 3, May 8, and June 5.
Closed on City holidays

For non-emergency requests, please call 311 and an officer will respond in the order in which the call was received.
For emergency situations, please call 911.
