What to do
Call 911 to report dangerous situations
Call 911 when:
- Someone needs medical attention.
- Fireworks are directed at people or property.
- Fireworks start a fire or cause smoldering.
- Children are using fireworks unsupervised.
Contact 311 to report noise
Note: 311 is closed on July 4. Information obtained will be reviewed by the Minneapolis police department.
People can make noise and fireworks complaints:
- Use the 311 mobile app
- Call 311 during business hours
- Text "fireworks" to 311898 to report a fireworks concern
- Submit a report fireworks concern online
Legal and illegal fireworks in Minneapolis
- Legal – Nonexplosive fireworks like sparklers, cones and snakes
- Illegal – Fireworks that explode or fly, such as firecrackers, bottle rockets, missiles and Roman candles
