Project overview

In 2023, City staff will resurface the streets in this area. We replace the top layer of asphalt pavement to extend the life of a street.  The new pavement should last at least 10 years.  

ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades

All existing street corners were updated to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  This work was completed in 2022.

Schedule 

• Project staff held a public meeting on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023 at the Stewart Recreation Center.
• Select curb and gutter replacement work to begin the week of April 10th, 2023. 
• Bloomington Ave S will be resurfaced June 26th, 2023 through June 30th, 2023.

Traffic impacts

Bloomington Ave S between Franklin Ave and Lake St will be closed and detoured to Cedar Ave from June 26th through June 30th.  Streets will be open to local traffic when possible.
