Overview

  • The Community Performing Arts Center (CPAC) will be an outdoor amphitheater.
  • It will have capacity for 8,000-8,500 guests.

Details

Developer and operator

  • Port of Minneapolis LLC (POM) will develop and operate the CPAC.
  • This is a partnership between First Avenue Productions and the Minnesota Orchestra.
  • The City will retain ownership of the land and will lease the property to POM.

Minneapolis Amphitheater

Events and programming

  • The venue will host outdoor events from May to October.
  • Events will range from local productions to national touring acts.
  • Smaller events can be hosted in an enclosed part of the venue.

Community partnership

  • POM announced a partnership with the African American Community Development Corporation (AACDC) in 2023.
  • POM is working with AACDC to ensure the construction and operation of the CPAC will benefit the community.
  • $3 from the sale of every CPAC concert ticket will go to a community fund.
  • AACDC will manage and administer that fund.

Construction timeline

  • Construction on the amphitheater started in spring 2026.
  • Construction will be completed in 2027.
  • The venue is expected to open for the 2027 performance season.
