Help build our city's tree canopy

City Trees offers a low-cost way for residents and businesses to help build the city's tree canopy.

Ways you can get a tree for your property:

  • All residents can enter our low-cost tree lottery
    • The City of Minneapolis sold more than 1,500 low-cost trees to residents in 2023. The trees will help increase the City’s tree canopy, provide shade, lower energy bills and increase property values.
  • Green Zone residents can request a free tree
  • Businesses can request a low-cost tree
