Green Zone community projects 2026 request for proposals

The City is now accepting proposals for 2026 Green Zone community projects.

Overview

We are looking to fund community projects that support the goals and priorities of the:

  • Northside green zone
  • Southside green zone

Projects funded by the RFP must fall within these priority areas:

  • Community building
  • Wealth building
  • Air quality

Funding period

  • Estimated contract start: January 2026
  • Estimated contract end: December 2026

Eligibility

Eligible applicants

Applicants must:

  • Serve Minneapolis residents particularly in the Northside and Southside Green Zones
  • Meets City of Minneapolis contract requirements

Eligible applicants include:

  • Non-profit and for-profit organizations
  • Neighborhood associations
  • Faith based organizations
  • Business associations
  • Other organizations serving Minneapolis residents

Geographic requirements

Project proposals should be developed to serve residents and businesses within the Green Zones.

Projects may be one of the following:

  • Specific to one Green Zone
  • A neighborhood within one Green Zone
  • Serve across both Green Zones
