The Office of Community Safety Design and Implementation team is doing work to:

  • Build a full ecosystem of safety
  • Increase collaboration of safety services
  • Gather information so we can provide the best services available

What a community safety ecosystem is

The community safety ecosystem is a network of:

  • Organizations
  • Services
  • Programs

They work together to address the causes of crime and safety issues in our communities. The end goal is to foster safe and thriving communities in the City. A safety ecosystem helps to ensure equitable outcomes for all communities in Minneapolis.

Safe and Thriving Communities

We're helping to build a safety ecosystem in the city.

The City shared the Minneapolis Safe and Thriving Communities Report. The report has recommendations to build out an in-depth safety ecosystem in the city. The Office of Community Safety (OCS) is working to design and complete recommendations from the report.

We moved the work forward with the Community Safety Ecosystem Asset and Gap Analysis. In this report, we identified our strengths and areas for improvement.
