Free workshops

The City gives free workshops for owners and managers of rental properties. 

We cover:

• What we inspect and the inspection process
• Renter rights
• Our maintenance code
• Where to find help for problems with renters

You can take them online or in person.

$250 discount for properties that become rentals

Completing a training and a follow-up survey qualifies you for a $250 discount on the conversion fee. Conversion fees are only charged when a unit becomes a rental. To get the discount, send us proof of your participation.

The discount:

• Applies just to conversion fees—not to change of ownership fees
• Is good for five years after the training
• Can apply to conversion fees paid in the last two years

Online workshops

You can take a workshop online at your own pace, whenever works for you.

We occasionally host free in-person workshops for people who prefer that format. These workshops cover the same content as the online training.
