Summer field day

On Aug. 23, 2025, you can join the Minneapolis Police Department for a free public event.

About this event

You can join the police department for Summer Field Day at Boom Island. This is a free, family-friendly public event. There will be face painting, a raffle, and food trucks. 

We will have stations for participating in:

  • Yoga 
  • High intensity interval training (HIIT)
  • Biking

The following police specialty units will be present: 

  • Canine
  • SWAT
  • Bicycle Rapid Response Team (BRRT)
