We manage a grant program to help create lead-safe and healthy homes.
Healthy Actions for Vibrant, Equitable Neighborhoods (HAVEN) Grant
Purpose
- Help homeowners address lead-paint and some other healthy homes hazards on both owner-occupied and rental property
Grant amount and additional benefits
- Up to $12,000 for repairs per dwelling unit
- Grant usually pays for 90% of the costs; details vary by property
- Free home inspection to detect for lead hazards by a Healthy Homes Inspector from the Minneapolis Health Department
- Free enrollment in the required EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) training course ($200 Value)
Eligibility requirements
- A child under the age of six must live at the property
- See income requirements
- The property must have been constructor before 1978
- Property owners must attend an eight-hour Lead Repair Renovation & Repair Training course

The lead and healthy homes team is working on current applications.
We cannot accept any more applications at this time.
