Empty paint cans or cans with dried latex paint may be put in your garbage cart. Leave the lid off so the collection crew can see it's empty. Paint and paint cans are not accepted at the South Transfer Station.

Remove cartridge from device if possible. You can throw empty cartridges in the trash. You must bring vapes and electronic cigarettes with rechargeable batteries inside to a drop-off location. They are not accepted for pickup by Solid Waste and Recycling or drop off at the South Transfer Station.
You must tape the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the batteries for safe storage and transport.
Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries can cause fires. They are used in many common items like
Fires can and do occur in collection vehicles and at waste and recycling facilities. Properly manage batteries to prevent injuries and destruction to vehicles and facilities.

Items marked Caution, Caustic, Corrosive, Danger, Flammable, Poison, Volatile, or Warning are considered hazardous waste.
