Disposal method: Organics, Garbage
What to do: Any edible pieces, trimmings or bones may be bagged and put in your organics recycling cart. If you do not have organics, double-bag and put in your garbage cart.
You cannot put a dead deer or other animal in your garbage or organics cart. Compost facilities cannot take dead animals without approval from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA).
More information: Certain landfills will accept deer carcasses from residents.
See Hennepin County's Green Disposal Guide for more information
Fun fact: There is no cost for Solid Waste & Recycling customers to get a green organics cart at their home. Anyone, including renters, can sign up.
Residents without City service can sign up to use an organics drop-off site.
