Some bike shops accept used bicycle tires for recycling. Some artists will repurpose bicycle tires into belts, earrings and more.

What to do:
Donate if usable. If not usable, set this item next to your carts out by 6 a.m. on your recycling day. Please label "for Solid Waste". There is a limit of 2 large items per week.

Cork - natural

Disposal method: Organics, Garbage

What to do:

Natural cork from wine bottles can be composted. Bag and put in your organics recycling cart. Organics may be set out in a paper grocery bag or a BPI certified compostable plastic bag.

Cork flooring, shoes or other cork items should be bagged and put in the garbage. Plastic cork must be thrown in the garbage. If you are unsure if it's natural or plastic cork, bag and put in your garbage cart.

There is no cost for Solid Waste & Recycling customers to get a green organics cart at their home. Anyone, including renters, can sign up.

What to do:
Donate if usable. If not usable, we'll pick this up on your recycling week. Large items must be less than 6 feet in length. Large items must be less than 6 feet in length.
