Northrop residential area ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades and resurfacing

The City will upgrade pedestrian ramps to ADA standards beginning in 2025 and completing in 2026. The City will replace the pavement surface in 2026.

Project overview

This project is part of the on-going street maintenance program.

ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades

The City will upgrade pedestrian ramps to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. This work resumed in the Spring of 2026.  

Resurfacing

City staff will resurface the streets in this area in the Spring of 2026. We replace the top layer of asphalt pavement to extend the life of a street. The new pavement should last at least 10 years.

Schedule

  • ADA pedestrian ramp construction work resumed the week of March 30th.
  • Select curb and gutter replacement work began the week of April 6th.

Virtual Informational meeting

The project team held a virtual informational meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. They provided an overview of the project and answered questions.

Traffic impacts

The road will be closed to traffic during milling and paving work for periods of time. Roads will remain open during the evenings and nights.
