Project overview

The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) will lead construction of:

  1. A new trunk storm sewer
  2. Construction of stormwater basins in the northern part of the golf course and park.

This is the third project we'll put into action from the study.

The project will:

  • Help relieve flooding in the park and the upstream neighborhoods
  • Provide water quality treatment for stormwater runoff
  • Restore native vegetation

Project background

The MWMO, Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, and City of Minneapolis Public Works completed a stormwater management study for an area in Northeast Minneapolis called the 1NE Watershed.
