Dowling Ave. safety improvements
The City will install non-permanent safety treatments using paint and bollards. These treatments will help the City prevent severe injuries and deaths from traffic crashes. This is a Vision Zero project.
Project overview
The Vision Zero Capital Program will install cost effective safety improvements that
- Help to end crashes
- Promote safer driving
These improvements provide a similar user experience as
- Curb extensions
- Medians
- Lane narrowing
The goals of these safety improvements are to increase the safety of all users because they
- Promote safe driving,
- Lower vehicle speeds,
- Reduce crossing distances for people walking
- Improve visibility at intersections
