Zero Waste Plan

We adopted the Minneapolis Zero Waste Plan in 2017. It addresses solid waste generated by residents and businesses. The plan serves as a road map for the City to achieve its waste reduction and waste diversion goals.

What to know

To maximize environmental benefits and support the solid waste management hierarchy, the 111-page Minneapolis Zero Waste Plan 2017 describes:

  • Strategies to increase access to waste diversion programs.
  • Education and outreach activities to support the programs.
