What Arts and Cultural Affairs does

We promote and support local artists to create art that reflects the culture of Minneapolis.

Overview

We advance and support a diverse and active arts and cultural environment.

To carry out this work, we:

  • Draft the arts vision and policy for the City of Minneapolis
  • Support the arts community, such as:
    • Artists
    • Arts and cultural organizations
    • Community-initiated arts efforts
  • Develop arts programs for youth and children
  • Strengthen neighborhoods and communities through arts and culture

  • Support local artists, art groups, and creative projects lead by the community
