What staff liaisons do

Every board or commission is supported by a City department. The department assigns a staff liaison who is responsible for:

  • Assisting in recruiting members
  • Reviewing applicants for the appointing authority
  • Helping new members get started
  • Providing support for meetings 
  • Ensuring the group follows meeting laws and rules

When appointed to a board or commission, you'll hear from your staff liaison about onboarding requirements. They will be your main contact for meeting information and everything related to your board.

The Office of City Clerk holds regular meetings with staff liaisons to discuss boards and commissions.
