Housing with 1 to 3 units
Learn about the updates to zoning rules for housing with one, two, or three units.
Site plan review
This section explains how the site plan review rules work:
- A menu of options lists the design standards that promote high-quality physical development.
- Each design standard has a point value (points vary based on the goal).
- Builders choose what to incorporate into the design of the new home.
- A new home must earn a minimum number of points to get approved.
The City made the first site plan review rules in 2005. At that time, home design quality was very different across neighborhoods. This update helps the rules fit today’s plans. It also makes the rules easier to use and enforce.
