Project overview

Traffic calming treatments

Each year, we collect requests to slow down traffic from Minneapolis:

  • Residents
  • Property-owners
  • Business-owners

In 2026 we'll work on traffic calming construction projects across the city. We've based these projects on requests we've received over the last year.

Requests for traffic calming received

In past years, we took requests for traffic calming projects from:

  • Residents
  • Property owners
  • Business owners

We then reviewed each of these requests.

Open houses

After we received and reviewed the requests, we held many open houses. We held them near locations where residents experienced traffic safety issues.

At these open houses, we learned more about specific traffic safety concerns.

Gathering more feedback

To collect more comments from the public, we offered:

  • A survey
  • An interactive map for each project year
