We help fund new energy-saving projects in 4d buildings.

Apply for funding for a new project

Eligible properties

Your property must:

  • Be located in the City of Minneapolis
  • Be enrolled in the 4d affordable housing incentive program

Incentive amount and criteria

You can receive a match of 70% of your project cost up to a maximum match of $50,000. The 70% match will be made up of your utility rebates plus your City match. 

Grants, matches and rebates cannot exceed your total project cost.

Equipment must meet the recommended minimum efficiency guidelines. The Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) may recommend an exception to the guidelines.

Eligible projects

You can apply if your project does one of the following.

  • Qualifies for an Xcel or CenterPoint utility rebate
  • Facilitates an energy efficiency upgrade for: 
    • Ventilation
    • Knob and tube wiring
    • Furnace room
    • Asbestos removal
  • Switches from gas to electric 
    • Appliances
    • Cold climate heat pump
    • Water heater heat pump
