May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This is a time to emphasize the importance of mental well-being and bring attention to the challenges faced by those living with mental health conditions.

We invite everyone to wear green on Thursday, May 1. This is to support our community and those struggling with mental health. Green represents new life, growth, and hope, a symbol of mental well-being and recovery.

Minneapolis awarded 2025 Vision Zero for Youth U.S. Leadership Award

Minneapolis is one of two cities in the country to receive the 2025 Vision Zero for Youth U.S. Leadership Award. This awards come from the National Center for Safe Routes to School.

The Vision Zero for Youth U.S. Leadership Award honors those working to eliminate severe injuries and deaths among children walking and biking, such as:

  • Cities
  • Counties
  • Tribal governments
