Definition

A pet shop or commercial animal care provider:

  • Grooms
  • Provides other care
  • May offer rescue animals for adoption
  • Is not allowed to sell dogs, cats, or rabbits

About mobile pet care:

  • If you provide pet care from a vehicle, you need a license.
  • You cannot make any sales from a mobile pet care vehicle.

You do not need a pet shop license for:

  • Places only selling frogs, worms or reptiles used for bait
  • Schools
  • Scientific labs
  • Veterinarians

  • $100,000 per occurrence and $300,000 aggregate for personal injury or death
  • $10,000 per occurrence for property damage
