Session 1
Intro to co-ops
- Meet course presenters and participants
- Learn about:
- Co-op structure
- Types of co-ops
- Foundational principles
- Local history
Session 2
Getting started
- Learn the step-by-step process for developing a co-op.
- Learn about tools to help you understand and design for shared ownership.
Session 3
Planning the business
Identify the key ingredients needed to create a solid business plan for your co-op.
Session 4
Building a strong foundation
- Learn the basics of how co-ops are set up.
- Find simple ways to get early funding.
Session 5
Cohort presentations
Groups will:
- Share their co-op plans
- Talk about next steps, including resources to help them keep moving forward.
Session 6 (optional)
Converting your business to a co-op
Learn how to turn an existing business into a cooperative.

Eligibility
For groups interested in:
- Starting or growing a cooperative, or
- Converting an existing business into a cooperative.
Schedule and attendance
- This is an online class. You must attend all the sessions.
- We typically hold two virtual sessions a week.
- Each session is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
