We explain what preservation review means and how to get it.
What it means
Preservation review is needed to:
- Alter or demolish a designated property
- Determine if a property is eligible for designation
There are two types of review processes:
- Administrative review
- Public hearing review
How to start preservation review
You can either:
- Submit a permit application for a designated property
- Contact staff about the process
Staff review projects by:
- Following the processes outlined in the City ordinance
- Reviewing design guidelines, if applicable
- Reviewing the Secretary of the Interior’s Standard
