Let us know if you're unable to access a City program, service or activity due to a disability. We'll help resolve the issue.

What to do

Issues you can report

Report discrimination with services, activities, programs, or benefits from the City. 

  • Physical structure issues related to access 
    Examples: 
    • A lack of wheelchair ramps
    • Inaccessible entrances
    • Counters at an incorrect height
  • Program or service issues 
    Examples:
    • Being denied accommodation requests to take part in a program
    • Being denied City benefits or services because of a disability
  • Communication issues 
    Examples:
    • Materials not provided in an alternative format
    • An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter not provided at a public meeting

We will help you

The City's Americans with Disabilities Title II coordinator will contact you to:

  • Resolve your issue, or
  • Find reasonable accommodations

Timeline

  • You must send your complaint within 60 days of the date of the incident.
  • We will schedule a meeting with you within 15 days of getting your complaint.
  • We will contact the person or organization who committed the possible discrimination.
  • We will share our decision with you within 15 days of the meeting.

Appeal a decision

  • You can appeal within 15 calendar days.
  • The directors of Neighborhood and Community Relations and Civil Rights will meet you.

If your issue is not resolved, you can file a complaint with Civil Rights or file a private legal action.
