To get a taxi driver license, you must:

  • Have a valid driver’s license from Minnesota or Wisconsin
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have at least one year of driving experience
  • Have a clean driving record
  • Be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Know the streets and taxi laws in Minneapolis
  • Not have a drug or alcohol addiction
  • Send in a five-year background check
