Project overview

2025 Traffic calming projects

Each year, we collect requests to slow down traffic from Minneapolis:

  • Residents
  • Property-owners
  • Business-owners

In 2025, we'll work on 49 construction projects across the city. We've based these projects on requests we've received over the last year.

Past projects and engagement

In 2023 and 2024, we engaged the public on traffic safety concerns. Learn how we received feedback and requests for traffic calming treatments.

Requests for traffic calming received

In 2023 and 2024, we took requests for traffic calming projects from:

  • Residents
  • Property owners
  • Business owners

We then reviewed each of these requests.

Open houses

After we received and reviews the requests, the City held many open houses. We held them near locations where residents experienced traffic safety issues.

At these open houses, we learned more about specific traffic safety concerns.

Gathering more feedback

To collect more comments from the public, we offered:

  • A survey
  • An interactive map for each project year
