Welcoming City

All are welcome here. Know your rights as an immigrant or refugee. The City of Minneapolis connects you with resources.

City employees won't ask your status

Minneapolis has a separation ordinance. When you come to the City for help, the ordinance says that City employees cannot:

  • Ask about your citizenship or immigration status
  • Ask you for documents to prove your immigration status
  • Use any knowledge of your status to enforce immigration laws
