Public Health Community Institute core competencies

Session topics:

  • May 6: Public Health and Health Equity 101  
    • Learn the basics of public health and how to promote fairness in health for all communities. 
  • May 13: Program Development, Design, Mapping and Implementation 
    • Explore how to plan and implement successful programs supporting health in your community. 
  • May 20: Evaluation  
    • Explore how to evaluate the success of your programs and identify methods to enhance them. 
  • May 29: Budgeting for Success  
    • Learn how to create a budget to manage resources and keep your projects financially secure.

These are required training sessions for those interested in applying for funding.

Lunch and learn

Each month, there will is an optional one-hour online session to go along with the Public Health Community Institute trainings.

These sessions focus on topics for new leaders and team members like:

  • Leadership and team building
  • Self-care
  • Setting boundaries
  • Other important skills

You'll learn helpful tips and tools you can:

  • Use right away
  • Meet other leaders
  • Find support for the challenging work you do

These are supplementary sessions and do not count towards the required sessions to apply for funding.
