Anyone can register to attend the free PHCI. The program is for those interested in building competency and capacity to include public health services in their:
- Workplace
- Neighborhood
- Communities

We focus on those experiencing the highest health disparities.

- Individuals
- Organizations
Optional funding opportunity
Community project
You can apply for funding if you are interested in completing a public health project as part of this training.
You are eligible to apply for funding if you:
- Are over 18
- Are interested in leading a public health program that impacts Minneapolis residents
- Complete core competency sessions
- Attend two more topic sessions

We train attendees on the different topic areas of public health.

- Financial management
- Managing projects
- Advocating for your community
- Communications
Core competency topics
PHCI core competencies are the skills you need to reduce health disparities in your community.
Core competencies include:
- Public health and health equity 101
- Program design, mapping and implementation
- Program evaluation
- Budgeting for success
Core competency details
- Four weeks in May
- Each session is 2 to 3 hours
- Open to all
- Required to be eligible to apply for funding
