Families with children in Minneapolis Public Schools
Stable Homes Stable Schools (SHSS) helps families pay rent if they qualify based on income and have children in a Minneapolis Public Schools elementary school.
- When school is in session, families can talk to their school’s social worker to see if they qualify and get a referral to the program.
- During school break, families can email shss@mpls.k12.mn.us
- Minneapolis Public Schools families and children can use the HelpMe App to connect to many types of assistance and support

Community members can visit the 1800 Chicago - Behavioral Health Center for walk-in needs. Needs can be related to mental health and substance use disorder.
