How to use the dashboard

For best results:

• View the dashboard in full screen.
• Use Chrome or Firefox as your browser.

Navigate the data

Use the icons to see each dashboard topic overview page:

• Home: Includes the mayor's message and topic icon links.
• Topics: Click a circular icon to explore data related to that topic.
  • Each topic has an overview page and a page for each measure.
  • Click a measure to see a page with details for that measure.
  • On each measure page, scroll to the bottom to navigate to other pages related to that topic.
• Click the home button to return to the dashboard home page.

Violent crime measure

• Use the drop-down menu to choose what years are shown on the line chart.
• Click a month in the line chart to show violent crime locations for that month on the map.
• Hover over the line chart to see specific violent crime numbers for that month.

Safety survey measure

• Use the drop-down menus to choose what year, precinct, or race and ethnicity are displayed on the charts.
• Hover over the charts to see specific values.

Response times measure

• Use the drop-down menu to choose what years are shown.

Fill time measure

• Use the drop-down menu to choose what years are shown.
• Hover over the line graphs to see exact values for each month.

Job vacancy rate measure

• Use the drop-down menu to choose what years are shown.
• Hover over the line graphs to see exact values for each month.

Workforce demographics measure

• Use the drop-down menu to choose what years are shown.
• Hover over the line graphs to see exact values for each month.

Engagements measure

• Use the drop-down menu to choose what years are shown on the charts.
• Hover over a month in the line chart to see how many resident engagements we held that month.
• Hover over a green bar in the bar chart to see the total number of interactions we had that month.
• Hover over a blue bar in the bar chart to see how many of our interactions led to a housing referral that month.

Encampment safety measure

• Use the drop-down menu to choose what years are shown on the line chart.
• Click on a month on the line chart to show the locations of calls for that month on the first map.
• Use the second drop-down menu to select which month is shown on the second map.
• Hover over the second map to see the crime or gun call type and the occurrence date.

• Hover over the line chart to see the exact values for each month.

Office vacancy rate measure

• Hover over the line chart to see the exact values for each quarter.
• Use the drop-down menu to show what Twin Cities submarkets are shown on the line chart.

Local sales tax measure
