Legislative Support and Operations

We help the City Council and appointed boards and commissions with decision-making. We also help the community take part in governance.

Overview

We support the City Council in performing its legislative and governance duties, and we ensure that services are

  • Accurate
  • Legally sound
  • Up to professional standards
  • Responsive to the community's needs

What we do

The Legislative Support and Operations division:

  • Provides secretariat services for the Council and its standing committees
  • Collaborates with departments to prepare, review and submit agenda items
  • Helps committee chairs complete agendas and plan meetings
  • Communicates all meeting results by publishing notices
  • Drafts reports and official acts considered by the full City Council
  • Manages the codification of local laws and public policies

Legislative Information Management System (LIMS)

LIMS is our system for managing meetings and the items that go through the City Council process. Our goal is to record the decisions made, and make that information easy to find and understand.

You can find information about City Council; including meeting calendars, agendas, minutes, and video,
