Review panels consist of three panelist, two civilian and one sworn.
Police Conduct Review Panels
The Review Panel ensures police conduct complaints get a fair review. It combines police review with civilian oversight.
Civilian panelists
- Inclusion in the pool does not mean they are eligible to serve.
- To be eligible, civilian panelists must meet qualifications outlined in our City ordinance.
Read Chapter 172.60 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances.
Sworn panelists
- The pool of sworn panelists is assigned by the Chief of Police or the chief’s designee.
- As with civilian panelists, inclusion in the pool does not guarantee eligibility.
- Sworn panelists must meet all training requirements.
- They also must not have any open misconduct cases to be eligible to serve.
