See the fee for registered vacant buildings in Minneapolis.

What to know

  • Owners of vacant buildings must register and pay an annual fee. The fee helps cover some of the City's costs related to properties that are not maintained.
  • The fee is due:
    • At the time of registration
    • Each year on the anniversary date of when we found the building vacant
  • We may adjust the fee annually.
    • Before June 1, 2025, the fee is $7087.
    • Starting June 1, the fee will change to $7228.70.
