Standard specifications and detail plates

We explain how to use documents for planning and building public infrastructure projects.

Standard detail plates

These documents are specific to our construction and design rules. They're used to prepare plans and specifications.

They are also used to build public infrastructure projects. These projects are often in the public right-of-way.

The Standard Plates Manual contains a set of technical drawings. Public Works developed these drawings. They show details of construction and materials.

These are for:

  • Contractors
  • Consultants
  • City departments
