Step 1

Sign up for the Minneapolis Homes email

  • Add your name to the Minneapolis Homes email list.
  • We will email you when we are accepting proposals to develop affordable homes on City-owned property.

Step 2

Submit a proposal

Proposal requirements will be outlined in the notice of funding availability (NOFA).

In general, they must:

  • Be reasonably-priced
  • Include the following.
    • A budget
    • An application for gap funding, if you want it
    • A conceptual design showing building elevations and a site plan
  • Address site control
  • Meet compliance requirements

Step 3

Find out if we accept your proposal

City review process

  • A committee reviews all proposals and makes recommendations to the City Council.
  • The City Council reviews the proposals and awards contracts.
  • We send you an email with to tell you if your proposal was accepted.

The process can take up to three months from the application due date.

When your proposal is approved
