A boulevard is a public space between the sidewalk and the street curb. It is often at the front of your property. Boulevards are public right-of-way land. Residents can plant and maintain gardens here.

Boulevard gardens are gardens planted by residents between sidewalks and streets. You can grow many kinds of plants in these gardens.

You can also add decorations to the garden. These may require a permit.

Parkways and park roads

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board manages parkways and park roads. You may need to contact them for a permit for your garden if you live on a parkway or park road.
